If you'd prefer to watch me talk about Mama Moving Forward, I made a short film about what we'll do together, and you can watch that over here on Facebook...
In those early days of motherhood, I put myself on hold. All my energy went into the struggle to make sense of this scary new world, the responsibility of someone else being completely reliant on me, adjusting to a whole new identity.
Beyond surviving the continuous steamroller of change, I had no idea what I wanted. All I knew was that I was so dog-tired, I'd never be able to think clearly or speak in full sentences again.
As I began to adjust to motherhood, I returned to work, more out of necessity than desire. But I still felt lost.
And at some point in those first early years, I started to realise that ignoring my own needs wasn’t working.
It was leaving me exhausted, frustrated and sad.
I could sense that that there was something more for me. That things could be better, for all of us. If only I could stop criticising myself and find the courage to explore who I could be...
My first big step was when I asked my in-laws to look after my son - so that I could go to my first regular yoga class.
I was so nervous about what they would think. I felt like a failure for needing time for me, for asking for help. I worried that putting my needs first was selfish and lazy and indulgent.
But I discovered that with each small new step I took for myself, it became easier. And clearer.
I made time to reconnect with my husband. And let go of trying to be that 100% ‘perfect’ mama / wife / worker, and settled for 75%...
No one seemed to notice the difference - because so much of my sense of enoughness was in my own head.
I wrote about how I was feeling. I got more comfortable being vulnerable, messing up, getting up again. My husband and I went on dates.
I started to acknowledge my strengths in spite of my failures, and finally… I began to connect with what I wanted now, in this new world, as this new version of me.
My journey became less about trying to pick up the most important pieces of my life before children... and more about shaping these into a new life for me now.
And with that clarity, I took my first step towards creating Story of Mum.
I had no idea if it would work - if anyone else would want to join in. I had never done anything like this before, and I was scared. But looking after myself had given me strength. And each step forward was building my self belief...

And deep down, you feel like there's more to you, more you want from your life, a different way to be.

AND AS FOR MY STORY?
I moved forward... I mapped out my first steps. Scrubbed that, started again. I imagined. I enlisted help.
I fought with my inner critic every time it told me that I wasn't good enough, experienced enough, brave enough, or beautiful enough.
And simply by taking one little step after another, sometimes backwards, but mostly forward, I began to move towards my bold new goal…
Most intoxicating of all, I was starting to feel the way I most wanted to feel - alive, creative, connected, joyful and free. And then the day came. I launched Story of Mum.
In a beautiful light-filled gallery full of colour and stories and magic and connection. My 3 month baby girl slung over my shoulder, my toddler rampaging under tables, my mum and husband at my side, my friends and their kids running wild all around, proudly cheering us on, serving cake and giving away flowers. Celebrating mothers. So many mothers.
It was an amazing feeling. To see the evidence all around me of what I was actually capable of creating underneath all the nappies, and weeping, and sleepless self doubt.
And over the years, Story of Mum has grown to fulfil and expand me in ways I could never have imagined that day.
It has been both sanctuary and creative community. I've gone on to host joyful empowering mamas’ retreats and an interactive exhibition of motherhood that travelled from Penzance to New York. Every day, I'm able to coach and support other amazing mums - I get to help them to move forward, just as I did. And it feels really good.
At each stage of my journey - from getting started, to reinventing what I had and evolving into something new, over and over again - I ask myself questions about the four areas that we will explore in this programme together.
What do you really want right now, what's the truth about why you want it, and how can you develop the self belief and resilience you need to move towards this next goal?
I use my answers to make a plan, enlist support so that I don't feel alone, and I gently take myself forward, tiny step by tiny step.
It's time. You can take that first small step for you, and join us.
Together, we'll move forward.
Every other day, for a fortnight, step by little step. Supported all the way by a circle of mama cheerleaders. And tiny bottles of faith...
It feels so good to move.
These questions, this support, a community of mamas, can change your life. I know.

TESTIMONIALS
Words from mums about their experience of Pippa's coaching and mamas' retreats:
"Pippa is gifted at this role. Her compassion and heart are vast and admirable. I cannot thank her enough." Terrie
"Pippa’s calm and kind approach to looking at issues one step at a time came at a perfect point for me. Making that leap to confront things felt less daunting when I knew that someone like Pippa was there to guide me through it." Laura
"I feel more myself today than I did yesterday and I can't thank you enough for that... We all have our own inner struggles yet we are fearful to show our weaknesses. The ironic thing is that by sharing those weaknesses, we have all become stronger, more fulfilled women." Kat
"Pippa is a beautiful soul who brings out the best in those she supports, and it has been a true blessing and honour to share such an immensely challenging time in my life with her." Amanda
"I am empowered, encouraged, and inspired by her, and my life is certainly better as a result of our work together. Thank you so much! " Heather

ANY QUESTIONS?
What does 'pay what you can' mean? How do I know what to pay?
We want this programme to be as accessible as possible, and we know how hard it can feel to invest in yourself, and put your needs first for once.
We also know that it makes a significant difference to how much value mamas get from a programme like this when they invest financially in themselves. The contribution is evidence of your commitment, and makes it more likely that you will participate fully in order to make the most of your investment.
And of course, we need to earn money so that we can continue to support other mothers as a social enterprise.
The choice is yours.
If you can't afford to contribute £2 per day (our suggested price: a total of £28) right now, we still want to support you. We know that at some point you'll be able to pay it forward by supporting other mums.
For those of you in a stronger financial position right now, who are able to pay more than £2 per day, every little bit extra helps us to subsidise these places for other mothers.

How much time do I need?
Typically you'll get out of the experience what you put in - and that can be as little or as much as fits smoothly into your life right now.
You'll receive an email with a simple prompt or question every other day - and you could answer this in two minutes, or take much longer. If you have limited time, you'll still benefit from simply working through the emailed questions.
Often, one prompt may resonate more than others, providing you with the particular focus you need right now. In that case, you might go more deeply into that question, setting the others aside for now.
We'll make some short videos to talk about specific questions that arise, host written 'chats' in the facebook group, and schedule some times for Pippa to be in the facebook group to do 'on the spot' live coaching. So if something specific comes up that you'd like to discuss, you'll be able to access some one to one support live in the group; as well as listening in as others receive live support. All of these things are optional, and will be preserved in the facebook group during the programme and for two weeks afterwards if you're unable to make them 'live'.
The intention is to help you discover what kind of input supports your process as you move forward, rather than overwhelming or distracting you. So we'll offer you resources, and you can choose which of these feel good to you in the moment. It's absolutely fine to engage with just one of these, or with all of them.
