Welcome to our website. This Privacy Policy and Terms of Use govern Story of Mum’s relationship with you in relation to Story of Mum’s website and Story of Mum’s Mama Loving Mail mailing list. .

If you continue to browse and use this website, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, please do not use our website or subscribe to our mailing list.
The terms ‘Story of Mum’ or 'us' or 'we' refer to the originators of the Story of Mum website. The term 'you' refers to the user or viewer of our website and/or recipient of Story of Mum’s Mama Loving Mail.
PRIVACY
Story of Mum is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. If you provide any information by which you can be identified when using this website or signing up to our mailing list, it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.
Our lawful grounds for processing your data as detailed in this privacy policy are that you have given your consent to the processing of your personal data for these specific purposes when you subscribed or resubscribed to either our Mama Loving Mail (emails) and/or registered to use our website.
We collect and use data via two distinct routes. These are:
1. Story of Mum - Mama Loving Mail
It is possible to register solely for Mama Loving Mail (emails including news about our events and offers) without registering on the website (see below). We collect the following information from you via an online form: • Your name (optional) • Contact information in the form of an active email address
For additional security, the sign up process has a 'double opt in': this means that you will receive an email to confirm that you wish to subscribe before you are added to this list. .
We use this information in the following ways: • To send you mama loving mail and invitations to our events • For internal record keeping • To analyse the use of our services, to understand which activities and events are most popular, and learn more about what you might enjoy next time.
2. Story of Mum - Website registration
If you wish to join in with one of our activities and upload your own material to one of our public online activity galleries, we require you to register on the Story of Mum website, providing a username (which can be anonymous) and an email address. This ensures that contributions to the website are genuine, and reduces the chance of spam.
In order to meet our grant funding requirements and understand more about the women we support, we initially collected (optional) information on user's children's age/s and your basic location. However, this data has now been deleted. On the website, we no longer hold any personal information other than your username and email address.
We use this information in the following ways: • For internal record keeping • To analyse the use of our services, to understand which activities and events are most popular, and learn more about what you might enjoy next time. • To contact you for permission if we wish to share your work somewhere other than the Story of Mum website, our emails and marketing materials.
Controlling your personal information
We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information gathered via either of these routes to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
If you believe that any information that we hold on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct this.
If you would like to remove your work from the public galleries, delete your public profile, unsubscribe from our emails, or remove any data we hold on you, you can do so at any time.
Removing your personal information
1. Mama Loving Mail: You can unsubscribe from our mailing list using the 'unsubscribe' button at the bottom of any email from us at any time. You can remove any information that you have uploaded to the website at any time via the 'my account' page:
2. The Story of Mum Website: To delete a public submission: Visit 'my account', scroll down through your list of submissions, and click on the item you wish to delete. Click on the 'edit' option above the submission, and you will be able to delete it. To delete your public profile: Visit 'my account', and scroll down to 'my public profile'. Delete the text from the text box. To remove your uploaded image, click 'remove'. Save your settings. To delete your account: Visit 'my account',click on 'edit' and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on 'cancel account' to delete your account and all your data.Accessing your personal data
You have the right to access the personal data we hold on you. You can make a request for this in any way, verbally, in writing, by social media. The easiest way to do this is by emailing us. We will reply within one month.
External data use
We use technologies, such as cookies, to customise content and advertising, to provide social media features and to analyse traffic to the site. We also share information about how our site is used with our trusted social media, advertising and analytics partners. All of these partners are working in accordance with GDPR regulations, protecting your data and ensuring it is not used for any other purpose.
Emails: We use Mailchimp to send our mama loving mail.
Payments: We use Paypal and E-Junkie to process payments.
Analytics - website:
We use Google analytics to track how people use the Story of Mum website. All IP addresses are anonymised so we are unable to identify how you as an individual use our website via these tools - instead, we are able to view general reports that allow us to understand how people typically find and use our website.
We have installed the Facebook pixel (see cookies below) on this website so that we are able to track purchases and engagement with our Facebook adverts.

Mailchimp provide us with data about how our subscribers engage with our Mama Loving Mail. They place single pixel gifs, also known as web beacons, in the emails that they send on our behalf. They describe these as follows: "These are tiny graphic files that contain unique identifiers that enable us and our users to recognize when their subscribers have opened an email or clicked certain links. These technologies record each subscribers email address, IP address, date, and time associated with each open and click for a campaign." Mailchimp use this data to create reports for us about how our emails were received and any actions taken by subscribers.
Cookies
A cookie is a tiny file used by computers to store information about websites, and vice-versa. The Story of Mum website uses cookies to improve your experience of the website by adjusting to your browser and available software. In addition, we use third party cookies from Facebook and Google analytics (these are used as described in the “Analytics - website” section above).
If you wish to avoid cookies, your internet browser may provide the means to disallow these. Doing so may affect your experience of the functionality of the Story of Mum website.
Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Our servers are provided by Blue Earth, who provide the following information on their security. Blue Earth's dedicated server is hosted in London with Rapidswitch. Their security information can be found here. Blue Earth's access to the server is encrypted and secure. The server uses a jailed system, meaning if there is data breach on one account, it would not affect other accounts on the same server. The server is monitored 24/7 for unusual activity. If a data breach of an account is suspected or found, the account is immediately suspended until Blue Earth have mitigated the issue. Blue Earth also employ iMunify360i, the latest in AI hacking detection software, along with ConfigServerFirewall, which is standard practice.
