Hope Boats

Scribble your hopes on a paper boat and sail them into your future with Story of MumFill a paper boat with your hopes, and send it sailing off...

These simple boats are easy enough to make with your kids, and biodegradable enough to send sailing away down your nearest stream...

Expect the launch to be accompanied by much delighted squealing and possible wet feet as you attempt to send our boats on their way...

And of course, do feel free to christen your boat launch with the fizzy pop of your choice ;)

“They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.” Tom Bodett

If everything was possible, what would you hope for, mama?

instructions

If you know how to make a paper hat from a rectangle of paper, you're half way there already...

capture your hopes in the middle of a paper boat and send them off to sea...

All you need to do is find a rectangle of paper, and spend a couple of minutes thinking about what you hope for. Because we all need to hope.

If you want, you can write your hopes in the middle of the rectangle, and that will fold them into the middle of your boat.

Or you can simply add a folded list of your hopes as your boat's passenger once you've made it.

Here are photos of the stages, just start in the top left corner and follow them anti-clockwise...! - which make it look a litte more complicated than it is.

And if these pictures are completely incomprehensible, there are more detailed instructions over at Wikihow...
